I would use a two position/off switch so both cannot run at the same time. You will need to make piping changes to the existing boiler piping.

Dec 13, 2010 · This is kind of a general question regarding the warning in the owners manual. It says "This boiler is designed to burn No. 2 fuel oil only. Do not use gasoline, crankcase drainings, or any oil containing gasoline. Never burn garbage or paper in this boiler. Do not convert to any solid fuel (i.e. wood, coal) or gaseous fuel (i.e. natural gas, LP/propane).
